Pain Management without Opioids
The opioid crisis continues to rob families of their loved ones and addiction costs the country billions in lost productivity, medical expenses and lives. Our host, Kathy Heberle talks with Debbie Custer about hemp and its wellness qualities including but not limited to pain management. Also joining us in studio is Linda Bailey. She has seen red light therapy change people’s lives by helping with chronic pain as well as depression and anxiety.
Debbie Custer learned about hemp and CBD oil when she was overseas. Her beloved dog was ill and the vet suggested she to put him down. A sales clerk educated her on hemp and how CBD oil could benefit her pup. Custer thought the all natural product could not hurt so she started giving it to her dog and he ended up leaving three more years.
She was fascinated by the possibilities. The more she learned the more she wanted to work with hemp. Hemp and marijuana are the same species of plants, but different. Legally, hemp is defined as a cannabis plant that contains 0.3 percent or less THC, while marijuana is a cannabis plant that contains more than 0.3 percent THC. CBD can be derived from both hemp and marijuana plants. In this edition of Sisterhood of the Second Act, Custer talks about the health benefits of hemp as a food additive and how she uses CBD in the products she creates and sells at The Hemp Mill, to help both humans and pet suffering from pain, anxiety and depression.
Tackling pain with red light
Linda Bailey found red light therapy when nothing helped her daughter after a head injury. The results were miraculous. The more she learned and saw the benefits the more she wanted to make sure others could have access to this treatment. So she started Total You Health where she offers red light therapy, massage therapy, bioenergetic testing and other non-invasive treatments.
In this edition of Sisterhood of the Second Act Bailey explains how red light therapy works and how she has seen it impact her clients lives.
During the pandemic when it was more difficult to see people in the office, Bailey expanded her services to include animals. Now that restrictions have eased, she still plans to continue the barn visits and seeing dogs and cats in the office.
A hand held unit is used on animals and has given arthritic dogs more mobility and less pain, just as it does in people.
