Home repair scams are always in season but the warm weather seems to bring out even more con artists. Julie Wheeler is the President and CEO of the Better Business Bureau serving Western Virginia. She walks us through the red flags that may crop up signalling a scam. She also tells us about the resources available through the BBB that can help you find quality companies, lodge a complaint and even help bring about a solution to a grievance.
The BBB also has a program called Ad Truth, which helps you recognize misleading advertisements and also provides an avenue for you to report fraudulent ads. Julie explains the program and more on this edition of Sisterhood of the Second Act.
