Planning for the End
Blair Graninger is a Family Service Councilor with Evergreen Memorial Trust. She helps family during one of the most stressful times of their lives, the burial of a loved one. There are steps you can take to mitigate the stress your loved ones experience when you die. That step is filling out the Evergreen Memorial Trust Planning Guide.
The Guide helps you gathering all the needed information your family needs, such as wills, financial accounts passwords, even your family history. It also has a place for you to share what type of service you would like and how you want to be remembered. Learn more on this edition of Sisterhood of the Second Act.
Honey Bees
During the warm weather months, we will see more and more pollinators in our yards. The most prolific pollinator, the honeybee, is in distress. Honey bees are super pollinators. A single bee colony can pollinate 3 million flowers a day. Bees pollinate about 70 of the 100 crop species that feed 90 % of the world’s population. In addition to pollinating our gardens, they give us honey and beeswax.
Michelle Rader works with bees and has even built her business, The Salty Bee, around their work. She talks with host Kathy Heberle about the bee lifecycle and what we can do to help them.
Through the Salty Bee, Rader, makes natural products. She uses old recipes to make sweet treats and uses bees wax for candles as well as health and beauty products.
